Get Solar Panels Today

If you live in Massachusetts, have a residential energy bill and a roof with good sun exposure, size and pitch of roof, you can now get solar panels with no money down.  About 15% of homes are good candidates.

If you have such a roof, you have three financing options:
  • $0 down.  If you have a good credit score, Next Step Living (the solar installer) will pay for the panels, own the panels and provide upkeep of panels.  Next Step Living will "rent" your roof by selling the electricity to you at a fixed rate below what you would pay otherwise.  You get overnight savings.

  • If you don't have a good credit score, or if you want to finance some of the panels in order to get more of the electricity savings, you can do a low up-front payment.

  • You can pay for the panels and installation entirely.  Next Step Living will still maintain the panels.  Because you financed the panels, you will get all the money from the state and federal credits.  Over the 20-year lifetime of the solar panels this equals a 10 to 20% return on investment and the best bang for buck.

The roof size should be at least 250 square feet.

Next Step Living won't inflate the estimate on your return on investment, because they are a partner with you in that investment. They won't install the solar panels unless you have a good site.

If you get solar panels installed, Next Step Living will donate $200 to HEET and give you an incentive of $500 that can be used for cutting down a tree in the way, buying down your electricity rate, or whatever else is needed.  You get to reduce your energy bill, produce renewable energy, help a great grassroots nonprofit and reduce your impact on the planet.

If you’re interested, sign up here to have your roof's solar potential analyzed remotely. HEET will contact you to let you know if your home is a good candidate for solar and will pass your information on to Next Step Living if you are interested in moving forward.

(If your roof is smaller, you could do solar hot water instead.  It's not as big a pay off, but this only takes 4 panels to create enough domestic hot water for an average home.  You will get paid your investment repaid in 3 years on average.  You can use 0% heat loan so it pays off the heat loan becoming basically is null investment that starts earning on day one.  In this case though you wouldn't get the $500 incentive nor would HEET get the $200 donation, but you'd still be getting a renewable energy installed and you'd see an energy savings.)

Thanks for being interested in solar.

Offer good until March 1st 2012.
